The company is looking for 1-2 senior backend engineers who will report directly to the CEO/Head of Product.
The goal is to scale Jupiter from 700 creators to 10k+ and achieve a $20M run rate within the next 2 years.
Work will have a direct impact on product and business growth in a high-autonomy, high-trust environment.
Areas of experimentation include Generative Engine Optimization, SEO, content generation from recipe videos, and automatic social posting.
Responsibilities include working directly with the CEO and Head of Product to scale Jupiter’s marketplace, owning key backend systems end-to-end, deploying and monitoring backend services in cloud environments (GCP) using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, and turning product requirements into technical solutions.
Design and implement backend services using Kotlin, Micronaut, and Spring frameworks, create RESTful APIs, design and optimize relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Elasticsearch) databases, implement background jobs and event-driven architectures using RabbitMQ, and write and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 4+ years of backend development experience, focusing on JVM languages (Kotlin preferred but Java is acceptable if willing to switch).
Proficiency in backend frameworks like Micronaut or Spring is required.
Experience with relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Elasticsearch) databases is necessary.
A solid understanding of object-oriented, functional, and reactive programming paradigms is expected.
Candidates should have experience with cloud platforms (GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and development is essential.
Understanding of event/queue patterns (RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar) is required.
Candidates should excel at problem-solving and debugging.
Effective communication and collaboration skills are necessary.

The base salary ranges from $100k–$140k, depending on location, experience, and internal parity.
Equity options range from 0.2%–0.5%.
The position is remote-first, allowing work from anywhere within GMT-5 ±4 hours.
