The Senior Backend Engineer will enhance digital payment systems and infrastructure for Africa and Asia by developing and designing core components of the Rafiki web service API.
The role involves opening up NALAβs payment rails to customers via API, enabling corporates to send, receive, and convert funds directly from their systems.
Responsibilities include building business-facing features, integrating with payment partners, implementing core business logic, launching new countries, using data for decision-making, automating processes, and contributing to REST API functionalities.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5+ years of experience building highly reliable and scalable backend services in Go.
Experience with RDBMSs such as Postgres and MySQL is required.
Familiarity with message-broker technologies like Kafka and RabbitMQ, and experience working within event-driven architectures is necessary.
Candidates should possess excellent knowledge of best practices in designing, developing, and deploying services in a cloud environment.
Experience working asynchronously with global teams using tools like Slack, Teams, and Jira is essential.
A passion for the product and the mission of NALA is required.
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
