  • The Senior Backend Engineer will enhance digital payment systems and infrastructure for Africa and Asia by developing and designing core components of the Rafiki web service API.
  • The role involves opening up NALA’s payment rails to customers via API, enabling corporates to send, receive, and convert funds directly from their systems.
  • Responsibilities include building business-facing features, integrating with payment partners, implementing core business logic, launching new countries, using data for decision-making, automating processes, and contributing to REST API functionalities.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have at least 5+ years of experience building highly reliable and scalable backend services in Go.
  • Experience with RDBMSs such as Postgres and MySQL is required.
  • Familiarity with message-broker technologies like Kafka and RabbitMQ, and experience working within event-driven architectures is necessary.
  • Candidates should possess excellent knowledge of best practices in designing, developing, and deploying services in a cloud environment.
  • Experience working asynchronously with global teams using tools like Slack, Teams, and Jira is essential.
  • A passion for the product and the mission of NALA is required.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
