As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will play a vital role in building and maintaining Anomalo’s distributed backend systems.
You will define, shape, and ship the backend development of new, innovative product features.
Your responsibilities include evolving backend systems for scale and reliability.
You will work closely with Product, Design, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success teams to better understand customer needs.
You will own backend development of new product features alongside product and design.
You will interact with end-users to deeply understand their needs and build the right solution.
You will architect systems that can be deployed and maintained at an enterprise scale.
You will maintain Anomalo’s Django/Celery-powered backend platform ensuring stability, performance, scale, and maintainability.
You will define the data model across backend data sources.
You will champion the adoption of best practices across the team and throughout the organization.
Requirements:
You must have 10+ years of software development or equivalent experience.
You should be an expert in Python, with Django/Celery experience highly preferred.
You need deep proficiency in SQL and experience writing performant queries with an understanding of internal query planners.
You should have experience architecting highly-available distributed systems, including production-grade ML workloads.
You must have the willingness and ability to flex up and down the stack as circumstances require.
You should be able to effectively communicate both internally with peers and externally with customers.
A passion for a values-driven organization is essential.
Experience working for a high-growth start-up is preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent practical experience is required.

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $175-230k plus meaningful equity.
