Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a passion for building tools that will be used by thousands of single cell researchers.
  • A track record of designing, building, and improving data analysis software that addresses user problems is required.
  • A degree in bioinformatics or a similar field, along with 8+ years of experience in bioinformatics engineering roles, is necessary.
  • Specifically, candidates should have 5+ years of bioinformatics engineering experience and 3+ years in a senior-level role leading technical decisions.
  • Proficiency in Python and R is essential.
  • Advanced skills in building bioinformatics pipelines using Nextflow or similar frameworks are required.
  • Practical experience with open source single cell data analysis tools and packages, such as Scanpy and Seurat, is necessary.
  • Significant professional experience in web development is required.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git/GitHub is essential.
  • Competency in working with container-based cloud applications, ideally on AWS, is required.
  • Strong data visualization skills and experience in conducting code reviews are necessary.
  • Candidates should have a desire to work as part of a close-knit team.
