Valtech is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS) to join a multidisciplinary project team focused on public-facing online platforms.
The role involves working with cloud technologies, infrastructure as code, PAAS, microservices, and container services.
Responsibilities include building and maintaining cloud infrastructures in AWS, setting up logging and monitoring, supporting teams with their pipelines, and coaching junior colleagues.
The engineer will participate in a 24x7 on-call duty rotation and will be expected to communicate transparently about their work.
The position requires collaboration with software engineers, QA engineers, and frontend engineers to ensure the security and reliability of cloud infrastructure.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a cloud engineer in AWS.
Strong communication skills are essential for clear and proactive interaction with project teams.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform, is required.
Solid knowledge of AWS serverless services and monitoring systems such as Datadog, New Relic, and AWS CloudWatch is necessary.
Familiarity with pipelining tools like GitHub, Azure DevOps, and Jenkins is expected.
Knowledge of microservices-related technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, is important.
A good conceptual understanding of cloud architecture and system thinking is required.
Candidates should have experience working in a DevOps context and possess an excellent command of English (C1 or above).
Familiarity with technologies such as ECS, EKS, Lambda, RDS, and Cloudfront is preferred.
Experience in publicly accessible, highly available eCommerce or experience platforms is necessary, along with experience working in international contexts.
