The Senior Cloud Engineer (IT) works closely with the Software Engineering and Sales Engineering Divisions to research, design, and implement systems and/or infrastructure.
This role involves assisting in the design and management of cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy.
It is a full-time position with remote, hybrid, and on-site opportunities available.
Responsibilities include designing and managing Inductive Automation’s cloud systems, applications, policies, and strategy.
The engineer will develop and modify scalable architecture to support applications and infrastructure on IaaS and PaaS platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Evaluating and identifying the best cloud solutions for the organization is a key responsibility.
The role requires incorporating security management and privacy requirements into cloud hardware, software, and applications.
Designing controls and processes that utilize available audit tools is also part of the job.
The engineer must maintain up-to-date and extensive knowledge of cloud products and technology.
Participation in on-call rotation for customer-facing services is expected.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4-7 years of cloud engineering experience.
Experience with Systems Design and Cloud Architecture on platforms like AWS, Azure, and GCP is required.
Proficiency in Cloud Computing, specifically with Linux and Containers, is necessary.
Knowledge of IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service) is essential.
Experience in Requirements Engineering/Analysis is required.
Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) Software is necessary.
Candidates should have experience with Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring Software such as DataDog, New Relic, Dynatrace, and CloudWatch.
High competency with Linux/Unix is a must.
Strong skills in cloud technology, particularly AWS, are required.
Experience with configuration management systems like Kubernetes, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is necessary.
Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation is required.
Candidates should have knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
A willingness to study and keep up with technology is essential.
Strong attention to detail and communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
Certifications such as Certified Cloud Architect are preferred but not required.
