The Senior Systems Engineer will report to the Manager, DevOps and will bridge the gap between software development, testing, and operations teams.
The role involves providing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery solutions that align with established System Development Life Cycles.
Responsibilities include administering and deploying tools to support these functions.
The position is available in Atlanta, Fort Wayne, Pittsburgh, or can be performed remotely.
Key responsibilities include working on cloud-based platform projects, maintaining and developing "Platform As Code" code base, troubleshooting issues, deploying applications on AWS services, and collaborating with international team members and development teams.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer role.
The ability to perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards is necessary.
Deep knowledge of the Linux operating system is required.
Previous experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins is essential.
Experience with configuration management tools, preferably Ansible, is needed.
Advanced database management skills are required.
A strong understanding of 3-tier application infrastructure, DNS, and basic networking topics is necessary.
Candidates must possess solid communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Exceptional attention to detail is required.
Knowledge of the AWS stack, including security best practices, is necessary; knowledge of the Azure stack is a bonus.
Understanding of distributed systems, redundancy, high-availability, and performance optimizations is required.
Scripting experience in BASH along with either Python or Ruby is necessary.
Experience with provisioning tools, preferably Terraform, is required.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or TFS is necessary.
Experience with systems and application monitoring solutions like Datadog and New Relic is required.
Understanding of "Platform as Code" and "Configuration as Code" concepts is necessary.
Familiarity with the ITIL framework and related procedures such as incident management and change management is required.
Comfort with collaboration and open communication across functional borders is essential.
