Remote (Senior) Cloud Engineer with Google Cloud Experience

Description:

• This position is for a (Senior) Cloud Engineer with Google Cloud Experience located in Germany.
• The role involves working with cutting-edge cloud-native technologies to build and manage modern, scalable software infrastructure.
• Responsibilities include automating infrastructure deployment using GitOps principles and developing custom tools to optimize cloud environments.
• The position supports remote work across Germany and encourages collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Ideal candidates are hands-on engineers passionate about continuous improvement, cloud architecture, and software development life cycle best practices.
• Key accountabilities include deploying and managing cloud-native applications using GitOps frameworks, developing infrastructure as code with Terraform and Helm, building custom tools and Kubernetes operators in Go, designing and maintaining Kubernetes clusters on Google Cloud Platform, troubleshooting network issues, collaborating with customers, and improving CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have proven experience with Docker and Kubernetes deployment workflows.
• Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform and Helm, are required.
• Proficiency in Go programming or the ability to learn it quickly for building CLIs, operators, or tooling is necessary.
• Solid shell scripting capabilities (Bash) are essential.
• Hands-on experience managing Google Cloud Platform environments using Terraform is required.
• Expertise in GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Flux for Kubernetes management is necessary.
• Candidates must have the ability to debug complex network issues in distributed systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a client-focused mindset, are essential.
• Very good German language skills (at least C1) and good English proficiency (B2) are required.
