Centric Software is seeking a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to join their Automation and Cloud Services team.
This position is remote, available to candidates in Sydney, Melbourne, or Canberra, Australia, and requires working in the Eastern Time Zone.
The role focuses on building and maintaining a scalable and secure platform for the Centric C8 cloud application.
Responsibilities include leading the creation of an automation framework using Pulumi, Terraform, and Ansible, and developing Python scripts for automation.
The engineer will manage cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms, ensuring optimal performance and security.
The position involves identifying and automating routine cloud operations tasks and collaborating with various teams to meet operational needs.
Documentation of automation processes and advocacy for best practices within the organization are also key responsibilities.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technology field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in cloud operations and infrastructure management in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
A minimum of 5 years in incident response and major incident management is necessary.
Expertise in Pulumi or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is required, along with a strong portfolio of successful deployments.
Proficiency in Ansible for configuration management and automation tasks is essential.
Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in developing automation tools and scripts in a cloud environment, are required.
Advanced experience with Linux and Windows systems is necessary.
Certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
A solid understanding of cloud networking and security is required.
Expert knowledge in containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher is necessary.
Experience with version control, CI, and automation tools like GitHub/Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Rundeck is required.
Candidates should have experience in deploying and troubleshooting Java-based applications and microservices.
Experience in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting database technologies like MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB is necessary.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, and the ELK stack is required.
Experience with technologies like Virtualization, VPN, RDP, SSO, and Kafka is beneficial.
Familiarity with project management tools like Confluence and Jira is advantageous.
