Remote Senior Cloud Operations Engineer

• Centric Software is seeking a hands-on, technically versatile Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to lead and evolve the infrastructure behind its flagship C8 cloud application.
• This role is remote and available for candidates in the US (PST or MST).
• The engineer will work across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms to build scalable and resilient systems that support mission-critical deployments and customer success.
• Responsibilities include managing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, monitoring cloud resources for availability and scalability, and optimizing resource utilization.
• The engineer will respond to and resolve time-critical customer issues, troubleshoot cloud-related incidents, and perform customer deployments, migrations, and upgrades in the cloud environment.
• The role involves supporting automation projects, writing infrastructure as code (IaC), ensuring security best practices, performing database operations, and collaborating with development, DevOps, and support teams.
• The engineer will also create and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes, stay updated with cloud technology trends, and propose improvements to cloud operations processes.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related technology field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
• Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in cloud operations and infrastructure management in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• A minimum of 5+ years in incident response and major incident management is necessary.
• Advanced experience with Linux and Windows is required.
• Certification in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
• A solid understanding of cloud networking and security is essential.
• Strong scripting and automation skills, such as Python or PowerShell, are required.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) and configuration management tools like Terraform or Ansible is necessary.
• Expert knowledge in containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, or Rancher, is required.
• Experience with version control, CI, and automation tools such as GitHub/Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Rundeck is necessary.
• Candidates should have experience in deploying and troubleshooting Java-based applications and microservices.
• Experience in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting database technologies like MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB is required.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or the ELK stack is necessary.
• Experience with technologies like Virtualization, VPN, RDP, SSO, and Kafka is required.
• Experience working with Confluence and Jira is also necessary.

Benefits:

• The compensation for this position ranges from $120,000 to $170,000, plus benefits.
• Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, reflecting the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations.
• Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
