Remote (Senior) Cloud Platform Engineer (Networking) (m/f/x) (onsite / remote in Germany)

• The Network Engineering team is part of the Core Tribe, managing the cloud platform that underpins Scalable's infrastructure.
• The team delivers core network services at scale, leveraging cloud-native technologies and maintaining connections to external partners.
• Responsibilities include improving cloud infrastructure and automation using AWS, Terraform, and programming languages like Python or Go.
• The role involves designing, maintaining, and operating multiple cloud networks on AWS for secure and highly available infrastructure.
• The position also includes maintaining financial middleware systems for critical applications and partner integrations.
• The engineer will support and empower engineering teams to strengthen the DevOps culture.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have multiple years of hands-on experience with core AWS services, including EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, Private Link, Route 53, CloudFront, and ELB.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, ideally with Terraform, is required.
• Candidates should be proficient in at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Python or Go.
• Preferably, candidates should have experience with Network Firewall, WAF, Site-to-Site VPN, Client VPN, Direct Connect, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, and S3.
• A passion for automating and improving processes while ensuring security and reliability is essential.
• Experience in managing VPNs and/or Leased Lines, low-level network debugging (tcpdump), and Cisco IOS XE (IPsec and GRE) is a plus.
• A degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent work experience is required.
• Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and concisely in an international English-speaking environment.
