  • The Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for building and optimizing data systems that support advanced machine learning and AI solutions.
  • This role focuses on designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines to ensure timely, accurate, and secure data delivery for analytics and product innovation.
  • The position requires collaboration with data science, engineering, and business teams to enhance member experiences and provide actionable insights.
  • Success in this role will be measured by the ability to innovate, solve complex problems, and drive best practices within the data engineering discipline.
  • Key accountabilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing data transformation pipelines, ensuring data systems meet high standards of quality, reliability, and performance, and developing monitoring and testing strategies for data processes.
  • The role also involves supporting incident response for data-related outages and evaluating tools and frameworks to enhance data platform capabilities.
  • Mentoring peers and contributing to the maturity of engineering practices is expected, along with strong communication skills to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 7+ years of professional SQL development experience and 5+ years of Python development experience.
  • Proficiency with DAG-based pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect is required.
  • Knowledge of data access patterns including caching, partitioning, and sharding is necessary.
  • Experience with data modeling, data structures, and data warehousing best practices is essential.
  • Candidates should have experience in at least two of the following areas: ML/AI training and inference pipelines, streaming/event pipelines using Kafka or similar technologies, familiarity with FHIR JSON-based storage models, or experience with graph data models and databases.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
