Remote Senior Data Engineer

Description:

• Ditto is a startup focused on enhancing data movement at the edge, ensuring seamless connectivity for real-time applications in various environments.
• The Senior Data Engineer will be the first hire in the Data Engineering team, responsible for establishing the end-to-end data platform to support product, operations, and go-to-market data.
• Responsibilities include gathering requirements, architecting the data stack, creating robust data ingestion, implementing ELT processes, orchestrating workflows, and partnering with cross-functional teams to define metrics and enable self-serve insights.
• The role also involves providing analyst support and assisting in the hiring process for future data engineering roles.

Requirements:

• Mastery of SQL and strong data modeling instincts, with proficiency in Python.
• Proven experience in building data platforms, including selecting tools and delivering solutions in a fast-changing environment.
• Fluency with ELT and transformation frameworks, as well as orchestrators like Airflow.
• Strong engineering practices, including testing, version control, and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex questions into actionable data products.
• Experience with data ingestion tools and familiarity with common SaaS/DB sources.
