Gravie is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their growing data team within the healthcare insurer industry.
The role involves designing, building, and maintaining robust and scalable data pipelines, data models, and data solutions that power analytics, reporting, and operational systems.
The Senior Data Engineer will leverage expertise in data engineering best practices, cloud technologies (AWS), orchestration tools (Airflow), and visualization platforms (Tableau).
Responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of efficient data models, developing and optimizing complex data pipelines, and enforcing data governance best practices.
The engineer will design and optimize data solutions within the AWS ecosystem, manage data workflows using Apache Airflow, and collaborate with data analysts and business stakeholders.
The role requires identifying and resolving data performance bottlenecks and promoting best practices in data engineering.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of progressive experience as a Data Engineer, focusing on data modeling, data pipeline development, and data management.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience in the healthcare insurer industry is required, with a solid understanding of claims data, enrollment data, provider data, and clinical data.
Proficiency in designing and implementing data models, extensive experience with AWS data services, and strong experience with Apache Airflow are essential.
Candidates must be proficient in SQL for complex data manipulation and have experience with at least one scripting/programming language for data engineering tasks.
Hands-on experience supporting reporting and analytics teams with data preparation for tools like Tableau is necessary.
Familiarity with data governance principles and healthcare data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Gravie offers a competitive salary range of $123,300 - $205,500 annually, with compensation determined by various factors including education, skills, and experience.
