Description:

• Mama Money is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to enhance their data intelligence, analytics, and engineering functions.
• The role involves collaborating with analysts and product teams to deliver high-quality, analytics-ready data.
• The Senior Data Engineer will work to ensure that everyone in the organization has access to the data they need.
• Responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure data pipelines on AWS using services like Glue, S3, EMR, and Lambda.
• The engineer will implement robust ETL pipelines using DBT for modular, testable, and version-controlled data transformations.
• The role requires working with Apache Iceberg to manage large datasets, supporting time travel, schema evolution, and efficient querying.
• The engineer will solve data-related problems, make decisions, and conduct trade-off analysis to meet business deliverable commitments.
• Responsibilities also include creating and enforcing policies for effective data management and formulating techniques for quality data collection.
• The engineer will support others in using data systems and ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
• Monitoring and analyzing information systems to enhance performance through new technologies and upgrades is also part of the role.
• The engineer will ensure the protection of digital databases and archives from security breaches and data losses.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer.
• A deep understanding and experience with machine learning, BI, and data analysis methodologies is required.
• Excellent knowledge of data administration and management functions, including collection, analysis, and distribution, is essential.
• Familiarity with modern database and information system technologies is necessary.
• Candidates should have deep experience with modern table formats such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi.
• Proven expertise in using DBT for managing analytical data transformations is required.
• Experience with one or more BI tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, is necessary.
• An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills is essential.
• The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop relationships with team members are necessary.
• A passion for understanding customer interactions with products and services is important.
• A technical background or extensive technical exposure would be a bonus.
