Description:

• This position is for a Senior Data Engineer (Python/SQL/Spark/AWS) at Darwoft, located in Latin America.
• The role involves designing and optimizing data pipelines that connect critical healthcare systems to drive real-time insights and patient-centered outcomes.
• The engineer will work across both modern and legacy architectures to build scalable, secure, and reliable solutions in the cloud.
• Responsibilities include designing and implementing ingestion pipelines for healthcare claims and clinical data using modern tools.
• The engineer will perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to maintain high code quality and performance.
• Collaboration with engineering and product teams is essential to improve data architecture and integration flows.
• The role also involves enhancing and maintaining legacy data connectors while developing scalable new solutions.
• Documentation of pipelines and processes is required to ensure clarity and ease of maintenance across teams.
• Participation in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, grooming, and demos is expected.
• The engineer will contribute to cross-functional initiatives to boost development speed and delivery consistency.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles with a solid track record in building data pipelines.
• Strong SQL expertise and experience in relational database schema design are required.
• Practical knowledge of Apache Spark, preferably with Scala, is necessary.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases and cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, is essential.
• Experience using data ingestion tools (e.g., Kafka, NiFi) and processing languages such as Python and Java is required.
• Bonus points for prior work with healthcare datasets and analytics.
• Strong analytical thinking and a structured problem-solving mindset are necessary.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across distributed teams are required.
