RevenueCat is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Team.
The role involves managing the data platform and supporting efforts to create a product that helps developers increase revenue.
The data tech stack includes SQL and Python, with infrastructure built on AWS, utilizing Aurora Postgres, Sagemaker, Dagster, DBT, Snowflake, ClickHouse, and Apache Kafka.
In the first month, the new hire will meet with the team, understand the data platform, implement a project, and familiarize themselves with workflows and subscription business concepts.
Within the first three months, the engineer will work independently on projects, participate in code reviews, and understand processes owned by the data team.
By the six-month mark, they will review code, contribute to architectural discussions, and have shipped a major impact feature.
Within the first year, the engineer will know all major system components, have their own initiatives for improvement, mentor new engineers, and influence organizational reliability and performance.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a data engineer, designing and maintaining complex systems.
Proficiency in writing and debugging in Python and SQL is required.
Familiarity with the Kafka ecosystem, including Kafka Clusters and Kafka Connect Clusters, is necessary.
Experience with an orchestration tool, preferably Dagster, and maintaining supporting infrastructure is essential.
Knowledge of Snowflake and/or ClickHouse or similar cloud data warehouses is required.
Candidates should have a basic understanding of Kubernetes for deploying and monitoring helm charts and operators.
Strong collaboration and communication skills in a fully-remote culture are important.
A proactive attitude towards fixing issues and suggesting improvements is expected.
Versatility and the ability to learn quickly are essential traits.
