  • The company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer specializing in Electronic Medical/Health Record (EMR/EHR) data.
  • The primary responsibility of the Data Engineer will be to design and deploy data pipelines that integrate a data-intensive AI application with EMR/EHR data to enhance patient outcomes through informed clinical decision-making.
  • The Data Engineer will report to the Head of AI and Engineering.
  • Responsibilities include designing, building, and deploying scalable data pipelines to support machine learning and AI workflows.
  • The role involves collaborating with colleagues to create applications that integrate with EMR/EHR systems, particularly Epic.
  • The Data Engineer will also prototype and research new tools to improve existing data infrastructure, such as vector databases for storing text embeddings.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate must have 3+ years of experience supporting data-driven or machine learning applications in production environments.
  • Strong experience in designing and deploying data pipelines using orchestration tools like Prefect, Airflow, or dbt is required.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehouse platforms such as BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake is necessary.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and scientific research is essential.
  • Familiarity with deploying containerized applications in cloud environments, such as Kubernetes, is required.
  • Proficiency in SQL and relational databases, particularly Postgres, is necessary.
  • A proven ability to operate in a fast-paced work environment is essential.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, along with a demonstrated team orientation and the ability to drive projects autonomously as needed.
