Remote Senior Data Scientist (Fully Remote in the U.S.)

Description:

• YouGov is seeking a talented and self-motivated Senior Data Scientist to join their team, working fully remote in the U.S.
• The role involves contributing to large scale statistical programming and data wrangling projects.
• Responsibilities include participating in niche research projects for internal and external clients, such as work on US elections, survey quality and data integrity, multiple imputation and data augmentation, panel experiments, and other ad-hoc research.
• This is a hands-on role that requires analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• The team develops models and predictions using a combination of surveys, voter databases, census microdata, behavioral tracking, and other sources, handling complex data problems including massive datasets, missing data, self-selection, measurement error, fraud detection, and attrition.
• Key tasks include the implementation and management of large-scale statistical programming projects, exercising creativity and judgment on complex research projects, coordinating with senior stakeholders to understand project requirements, and collaborating with the existing data science team.

Requirements:

• A Master’s or PhD in data science, statistics, quantitative social science, or other related fields is required.
• Expert proficiency in R for data analysis, modeling, and visualization is essential.
• Candidates must have experience with a variety of statistical methods, including regression, causal inference, multilevel regression models, classification models, machine learning, MRP, and LLMs.
• Experience performing statistical analyses on large datasets is necessary.
• The ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code is required.
• Candidates should be skilled at communicating results and research methodology through reports.
