Description:

• Ocrolus is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to build at the intersection of AI and fintech, helping lenders automate workflows and streamline borrower evaluations.
• The company processes nearly one million credit applications monthly across various lending sectors, achieving over 99% accuracy in data capture from financial documents.
• The data science team develops impactful analytics and machine-learning products that assist lenders in making informed credit, fraud, and operational risk decisions.
• Responsibilities include partnering with Product and Engineering teams to define data science problems, managing the lifecycle of data science models, and developing scalable models that meet business needs.
• Data science initiatives may involve using NLP/LLMs for transaction classification, predicting loan defaults, and building systems for matching financial documents.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience in building and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or Engineering is required.
• Full stack data-science experience is necessary, including ideation, building, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining production ML models.
• Strong communication skills are essential for presenting complex technical topics to diverse audiences.
• A deep understanding of statistics, probability, and machine learning algorithms is required.
• Candidates should possess strong software engineering and data engineering fundamentals.
• Expert-level programming skills in Python and proficiency with data science libraries like pandas and scikit-learn are mandatory.
• Excellent SQL skills and experience with large data warehouses (Snowflake/Postgres) are required.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, shell scripting, Git/version control, REST/GRPC APIs, and cloud infrastructure (AWS) is necessary.
