Description:

  • The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for the entire machine learning model development process, including conception, creation of model pipelines, technical development, deployment, and collaboration with credit, product, and finance teams.
  • The ideal candidate will help create and improve credit risk models and build machine learning-based paycheck detection algorithms to decrease loss rates and increase approval rates.
  • This role requires someone who excels at solving complex problems and is comfortable with a variety of technical tools.
  • Tilt is a remote-first company, with travel for company offsites expected at least twice a year.

Requirements:

  • A BS degree in engineering, computer science, finance, or mathematics is required.
  • Candidates must have 4+ years of industry experience in data mining, machine learning, statistical analysis, and/or predictive modeling.
  • A deep understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques, including regression, classification, clustering, and optimization is necessary.
  • Experience building predictive models from scratch is essential.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and intermediate to advanced knowledge of SQL are required.
  • Demonstrable experience with machine learning packages such as scikit-learn, LightGBM, XGBoost, and SparkML is necessary.
  • Knowledge in deep learning and experience with DL toolkits like Tensorflow, Keras, or PyTorch is preferred but not required.
  • Candidates should be comfortable working with various cross-functional partners in tech, product, credit, and business.
  • Exceptionally strong problem-solving and communication skills are required, with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and executive audiences.
