The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) will be a technical leader within the Infrastructure & Operations team, ensuring the security and reliability of database systems.
Responsibilities include architecting, designing, and implementing solutions for MySQL, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL infrastructure.
The DBA will serve as a technical advisor on NoSQL/SQL development and lead the design of scalable database infrastructure.
The role involves developing monitoring systems to identify and resolve performance issues proactively.
The DBA will partner with the SRE team for production changes and lead database-related incident resolution.
Responsibilities also include orchestrating data integration strategies, implementing automation frameworks, and maintaining database documentation standards.
The DBA will lead observability initiatives, direct capacity planning, and manage on-call support processes.
The role requires researching and recommending emerging database technologies and best practices.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of extensive experience as a Database Administrator with proven leadership in database architecture.
Deep expertise in managing mission-critical, highly transactional distributed databases, preferably MySQL, in enterprise cloud environments is required.
Advanced knowledge of AWS RDS/Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redis (AWS ElastiCache) administration is necessary.
Experience in leading on-call support processes and mentoring team members is essential.
Advanced SQL development skills with a track record of complex query optimization are required.
Candidates must possess expert-level troubleshooting abilities for database integrity issues, performance problems, and connectivity challenges.
Superior analytical skills with the ability to solve complex database problems are necessary.
Extensive experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and implementing monitoring solutions is required.
Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform is a must.
Strong technical leadership and communication skills to influence cross-functional teams are essential.
