  • Trella Health is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join their technology team.
  • This position is remote-first, with a preference for candidates near regional hubs in Atlanta, Nashville, or Philadelphia.
  • The Senior Database Administrator will be responsible for the full lifecycle of database administration for mission-critical systems, including designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining database systems in Snowflake and Postgres.
  • Key responsibilities include leading performance tuning, index optimization, capacity planning initiatives, and ensuring a seamless flow of information by maintaining database operations.
  • The role involves designing and implementing data security and integrity controls, identifying database requirements for applications, and optimizing database performance by evaluating new technologies.
  • The administrator will support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and executing regular maintenance tasks.
  • Additional duties include guiding long-term data architecture, governance, and compliance best practices, as well as developing and maintaining documentation for data standards and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have 7+ years of experience in database administration or a similar role.
  • Experience in database backup, disaster recovery planning, performance optimization, and data security is required.
  • Knowledge of database management systems such as MySQL, MariaDB, and Postgres is necessary, with experience in Snowflake strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for providing quick solutions to issues.
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills are needed to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience with cloud database technologies, such as Amazon RDS, is preferred, and knowledge of AWS Lake Formation is a plus.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience, is required.
