  • Experian is seeking an experienced Senior Database Engineer to design their data infrastructure.
  • The role involves developing scalable and secure database solutions that support business applications and analytics platforms.
  • The Senior Database Engineer will report to the VP of Architecture and collaborate with engineering, data science, and DevOps teams to ensure data integrity, performance, and availability.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable database architectures for transactional workloads, developing data models, schemas, and storage strategies, and defining database standards and governance policies.
  • The engineer will collaborate with application developers and data engineers to enhance queries, indexing strategies, and data access patterns.
  • Leading database migration, replication, and backup/recovery strategies across cloud and on-prem environments is also a key responsibility.
  • The role requires monitoring database performance to ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness, recommending new database technologies, and providing technical leadership and mentorship to database administrators and data engineers.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in database architecture, design, and administration.
  • Expertise in relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, and DynamoDB is required.
  • Experience with data modeling, normalization, and schema design is essential.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and managed database services is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and database security is necessary.
  • Candidates should be familiar with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, as well as CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in creating technical documentation and effective communication with stakeholders is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills are mandatory.
