The position of Data Engineer involves implementing data ingestion and pipeline processes on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Responsibilities include designing, developing, configuring, testing, debugging, and documenting complex data workflows and pipelines based on business and technical requirements.
The role requires both independent and collaborative work with the team to ensure efficient data processing while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Key tasks include designing and implementing data ingestion and pipeline workflows, developing solutions through code development and tool configuration, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The Data Engineer will prepare detailed specifications and documentation, provide technical expertise, query databases using SQL, support integration with Google BigQuery and other platforms, and develop testing and implementation plans.
The role also involves participating in project planning, adhering to security standards for data processing, and staying informed about new tools and technologies for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
A 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields, or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates must have 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related role with a focus on cloud technologies.
Experience with Google Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Google Dataform, Google Cloud Storage, and Cloud Composer is essential.
Strong SQL skills for querying and managing databases are required.
Proficiency in GitHub for version control is necessary.
Familiarity with Cloud Data Fusion and experience with DBMS connectivity and interactions (SQL Server, DB2, Oracle) is considered a plus.
Experience with RESTful APIs and SOAP Web services is beneficial.
Candidates should have experience integrating with Google resources, databases, and cloud services.
Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence is advantageous.
