IDT Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Senior Database Engineer to join their database services team.
The role involves performing database analysis, design, and administration functions to support strategic projects aligned with organizational goals.
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, Couchbase, and PostgreSQL technologies in an enterprise environment.
Successful candidates must be self-motivated and able to work collaboratively in a team environment.
The position requires defining, planning, and implementing long-term goals and tasks in support of IDT's enterprise and technology organization charter.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, multitasking, troubleshooting skills, logical thinking, and attention to detail are essential for success in this dynamic environment.
Responsibilities include database administration tasks such as provisioning new MongoDB clusters, collaborating with developers on collections, indexes, and SQL queries, software installation, patches, upgrades, database schema changes, tuning, managing database replication, backup, and recovery, as well as providing 24x7 support as part of the DBA on-call rotation schedule.
Requirements:
A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science is required.
Candidates must have 8-10 years of DBA experience.
Deep experience with Oracle, MongoDB, and MySQL databases is essential.
Experience with databases hosted on Linux is required.
Knowledge of database architecture and high availability solutions is necessary.
Familiarity with the Amazon RDS platform is required.
Candidates should have experience troubleshooting application issues and designing database objects.
Prior experience with System/Network administration and knowledge of PostgreSQL and Couchbase is a plus.
Candidates who are MongoDB experts but lack exposure to Oracle and MySQL technologies are still encouraged to apply.
