Element 84 is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong background in AWS, Azure, and a proven track record utilizing Terraform to support innovative projects, including those in the geospatial domain.
In this role, you'll be instrumental in leading the design, implementation, and operation of cloud-native solutions for complex operational systems, collaborating closely with technical teams and customers.
Responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native solutions on AWS and Azure, collaborating with security experts to ensure compliance, developing and maintaining Terraform code, optimizing CI/CD automation pipelines, crafting automation scripts, contributing to infrastructure for Generative AI applications, planning migrations to AWS or Azure, automating application container management, and defining best practices for DevOps success.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in software development, with 3+ years specifically focused on Cloud Technologies.
Strong, hands-on experience with Terraform is required, including writing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex configurations for AWS and Azure environments.
Demonstrable experience in designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure and services in AWS and Azure is essential.
Candidates should be able to clearly document and communicate intricate architectural concepts and have experience negotiating tradeoffs between security, performance, maintainability, and cost.
Proven ability to multitask and effectively prioritize work across competing demands and multiple customers is necessary.
Extensive experience working within an Agile Development software team is required.
Proficiency in writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code, with a strong emphasis on Terraform, is a must.
Strong experience with Linux environments and developing in Python or another high-level language is required.
Candidates should have a deep understanding of cloud architecture patterns and tradeoffs, expertise with build and deployment automation tools, and proficiency with infrastructure monitoring tools.
Experience with data engineering tools and technologies, networking tools, and troubleshooting issues is necessary.
Technical cloud certification or willingness to obtain one is required, along with a willingness to support 24x7 operations.
