The company is seeking a talented and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to join their team.
The role involves bridging multiple software teams and the centralized DevOps organization.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will champion developer experience, advocate for best practices, and turn ambiguous challenges into clear, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities include spending quality time with software engineering teams to understand their workflows, championing tooling improvements, and developing shared libraries and CI/CD pipelines.
The position is available in Umbra's Santa Barbara, CA or Arlington, VA office, with consideration for remote applicants.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates must have 8+ years of cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or cloud engineering experience.
Knowledge of microservices and serverless architectures is necessary.
A deep working knowledge of AWS services and best practices is required.
Expertise in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is essential.
Proficiency in Python, Go, or another scripting/programming language is needed.
Strong experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is required.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions is necessary.
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
