OpenSesame is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a strong security mindset to join their fully remote team.
The role involves contributing to the growth and success of OpenSesame’s eLearning platform.
Candidates should have strong technical expertise in CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud platforms, along with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Responsibilities include designing and managing scalable, secure systems primarily on AWS, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure high performance and resilience.
The position aims to enable developers to move faster and more safely by streamlining and embedding security best practices into the platform architecture and automation tooling.
The role requires a combination of technical leadership, security awareness, and a commitment to developer enablement through automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Performance objectives include integrating into the team’s workflow, enhancing infrastructure automation, mentoring engineers, improving team processes, and leading infrastructure initiatives.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a strong background in DevOps principles, including security by design, observability, and infrastructure automation.
Expertise in IaC tools such as Terraform is required for consistent, auditable, and automated infrastructure provisioning.
Strong communication skills are necessary for building relationships across engineering teams and championing a culture of ownership.
Experience with AWS, CI/CD, and security best practices is essential.
Candidates should be able to mentor engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning through peer reviews and knowledge sharing.
A commitment to improving developer experience through automation, tooling, and security enablement is required.
Familiarity with the technology stack, including Terraform, AWS, Github Actions, Docker, Chef, Python, PHP, Go, and C#, is preferred.
