The role involves establishing a software factory platform using agile development practices and deploying a DevSecOps platform for various developer teams in the federal sector.
Key responsibilities include developing Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code using GitCI, leveraging AWS cloud infrastructure, creating Helm charts for EKS, developing scripts in bash/Python/Perl/go, automating processes, integrating services with Kubernetes, and participating in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning.
Requirements:
Candidates should have 4-5+ years of industry experience, with 3-5 years specifically in Kubernetes and containerization tools like Docker.
Knowledge of Istio, Custom Kubernetes Operators, Custom Helm charts, and Custom Controllers is required.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in building and maintaining compliant computing environments in AWS or Azure using terraform/helm is necessary.
Proficiency in Golang for developing cloud-based solutions and basic programming languages like Python for scripting and debugging is essential.
Experience in building CI/CD pipelines and using configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible is required.
Familiarity with DevSecOps tasks, debugging cluster-based computing architectures, and a Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or a related field is mandatory.
Certifications such as Security+ or higher and Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) are required.
Highly preferred qualifications include experience with DoD’s Platform One, the ability to develop custom Kubernetes Operators, and a Certified AWS Solutions Architect credential.
Candidates must be able to maintain a Secret security clearance.
