The company is seeking a Data Engineer Expert to help shape the foundation of intelligent systems built on high-quality product data.
In this role, the Data Engineer Expert will be central to designing scalable data pipelines and knowledge structures that power critical AI and ML-driven features.
Responsibilities include architecting and implementing scalable data pipelines (both batch and real-time) to ingest, process, and enrich large-scale product data.
The role involves building sophisticated data transformations for tasks such as attribute extraction, normalization, deduplication, and entity resolution.
The Data Engineer Expert will develop and maintain knowledge infrastructure, including metadata layers, product graphs, ontologies, and embeddings.
Collaboration with domain experts to define and evolve taxonomies, classification schemas, and product hierarchies is essential.
The position requires proactive monitoring and enhancement of data quality, consistency, and lineage, as well as enforcing data contracts and validation rules.
Continuous optimization of pipeline performance, reliability, and scalability in a cloud-native environment is expected.
The role promotes engineering best practices around testing, documentation, versioning, and observability for data workflows.
Requirements:
A degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related technical discipline is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of hands-on experience building large-scale, production-grade data pipelines.
Strong knowledge of Apache Beam, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or similar streaming and batch processing technologies is necessary.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is required, with experience in SQL, dbt, or BigQuery considered a plus.
A solid foundation in data modeling, schema design, and data lifecycle management is essential.
Candidates should be comfortable working with a variety of data formats, including JSON, Avro, and Protobuf.
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, ML, and product teams are important.
