Nomos is seeking a Senior Engineer with strong Rust and P2P experience to join their team.
The role involves implementing and optimizing decentralized P2P protocols for network infrastructure.
Responsibilities include building production-level P2P network components based on technical specifications and developing proof-of-concepts for peer-to-peer communication layers.
The engineer will also engineer resilient distributed systems for Byzantine fault-tolerant environments and analyze and optimize real-world P2P network performance, focusing on latency, throughput, and node scalability.
Additionally, the role requires maintaining and enhancing the Rust-based P2P networking stack.
Requirements:
Candidates must have solid experience in Rust, which is non-negotiable.
Proven P2P engineering experience is required, including the implementation of peer discovery, data propagation, or network topologies, as well as building decentralized systems in Byzantine environments.
The ability to operationalize P2P research into production code is essential.
Candidates should have proven experience in Distributed Systems, with strong knowledge of consensus mechanisms, distributed storage, or gossip protocols, and performance tuning of large-scale node networks.
A background in Computer Science or Mathematics fundamentals, particularly in cryptography, algorithms, and networking, is necessary.
Strong technical communication skills, including code documentation and system diagrams, are required.
A strong interest in privacy-preserving, censorship-resistant, and open protocols is also important.
Benefits:
Compensation for this role can be provided in any mix of fiat or cryptocurrency.
