As a Senior Flight Software Engineer, you will lead the development of flight software systems for imaging payloads that perform image capture, processing, and data exploitation on orbit using embedded hardware.
You will also contribute to the development of autonomy software for autonomous tasking and decision-making on-orbit.
Your work will ensure reliability, efficiency, and scalability in intelligent satellite operations, impacting the organization's ability to meet market demands and maintain a competitive edge.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining flight software, contributing to algorithm development, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, performing verification and validation, driving system-level architecture, documenting software processes, and participating in hardware-in-the-loop testing.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience developing and deploying software for space systems is necessary.
A background in spacecraft mission operations or control systems is essential.
Strong programming skills in modern C++ are required.
Expertise in real-time operating systems (RTOS) and software architecture for embedded systems is necessary.
Experience with software verification and validation processes is required.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential.
Candidates must be eligible to hold a security clearance.
