The role involves building and improving the Gen AI platform and products such as “Ask Canva,” a user-facing chatbot that provides detailed user support using cutting-edge LLM techniques.
You will work closely with backend engineers and MLEs to deliver the best AI support for customers.
The position focuses on contributing to a scalable, interface-agnostic GenAI platform powering Canva’s user support.
Responsibilities include building and integrating frontend components for “Ask Canva,” iteratively improving frontend experiences, and presenting new ideas to elevate Canva's AI help experiences.
Requirements:
You should have 5+ years of frontend engineering experience, with a proven ability to deliver complex products autonomously and at scale.
Deep expertise in modern web technologies such as React, TypeScript, and GraphQL is required.
You must be skilled at balancing speed and quality, knowing when to experiment, refactor, and ship.
Experience working in cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with MLEs, designers, and backend engineers is essential.
A strong interest in AI and LLMs, with confidence in building production-grade systems that integrate with them, is necessary.
Enjoyment in mentoring others and raising the bar through code reviews and thought leadership is expected.
