  • The Senior Frontend Engineer will help shape the frontend architecture of the core product as Canva continues to scale.
  • Responsibilities include designing, developing, and deploying solutions, working closely with leads, designers, and product managers to ship features.
  • The engineer will leverage technologies like LLMs, MCPs, and internal AI platforms to deliver engaging experiences.
  • The position primarily focuses on web frontend development using Typescript, with opportunities to work across the full-stack.
  • The role includes contributing to frontend architecture decisions and facilitating knowledge sharing within the team.
  • The engineer is expected to model initiative and ownership in achieving goals and advocate for performance, accessibility, and maintainability.

Requirements:

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down large projects into manageable tasks.
  • Solid understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals, including asynchronous programming, data structures, and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in the frontend stack, which includes JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, TypeScript, and MobX.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage dependencies across teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Highly desirable experience includes AI/ML integration, particularly with large language models and prompt engineering for code generation.
