Remote Senior Full Stack Engineer, AI Experience

• Rocket Money’s mission is to improve the financial prosperity of millions of people by offering members a unique understanding of their finances and valuable services.
• The EverPresence team is focused on building the intelligence behind a next-generation financial assistant using robust backend systems and cutting-edge Generative AI.
• In this role, you will spend approximately half of your time on LLM-driven work, which includes crafting, refining, and evaluating prompts, designing RAG/data retrieval strategies, building prompt/response evaluation frameworks, and ensuring the quality and safety of model outputs.
• The other half of your time will be spent building and scaling backend services in TypeScript/Node to serve, secure, and monitor AI-powered user experiences.
• You will own features end-to-end, from technical design through implementation and infrastructure to monitoring.
• Collaboration with product, design, and data teammates is essential to transform user challenges into effective conversational solutions, with rapid iterations based on real-world feedback.
• Staying updated on the latest GenAI research, open-source tooling, and best practices is expected, along with advocating and implementing relevant innovations.
• You will contribute to team quality through code reviews, architecture discussions, and mentorship.

Requirements:

• You must have 6+ years of experience as a professional software engineer, with a strong focus on backend TypeScript/Node and SQL-based systems.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with large language models is required, including prompt engineering, model evaluations/benchmarks, and understanding of RAG workflows.
• Solid SQL/data modeling skills are necessary, ideally with exposure to PostgreSQL, with extra credit for experience with pgvector.
• Experience with or enthusiasm for LLM infrastructure tools such as LangFuse and LiteLLM, as well as cloud-based deployment (AWS preferred), is required.
• A passion for GenAI and active experimentation with new models, evaluation tools, and AI workflows in your own time is essential.
• You should be self-driven, communicative, and motivated to deliver impactful solutions in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment.

• The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000/year, plus bonus and benefits, with base pay varying depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
