  • The role involves contributing to the development of Lens, the leading IDE for Kubernetes developers, which is used by over 700,000 DevOps professionals globally.
  • Lens is built on Electron and powered by modern technologies such as React, TypeScript, and Node.js, with the backends also leveraging TypeScript and Node.js.
  • The developer will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.
  • Responsibilities include developing new features for Lens Desktop and Lens Cloud services, implementing visually appealing user interfaces, collaborating in all stages of the development lifecycle, maintaining and optimizing existing codebases, and ensuring high usability and consistency with the Lens brand.
  • The role also involves upholding coding standards, adopting CI/CD pipelines, exploring new technologies, engaging with the Lens community, and serving as a mentor for the team.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on full-stack web applications.
  • Proficiency in React, TypeScript, Node.js, and familiarity with Electron or similar desktop application frameworks is required.
  • A solid understanding of cloud-native best practices, with experience in Kubernetes or microservices being highly desirable.
  • Candidates should understand and leverage common architectural styles and patterns around Microservices, 12factor-apps, and cloud-native app development.
  • A demonstrated track record of building scalable, maintainable, and high-quality applications in agile environments is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, including performance optimization, security, and reliability considerations is necessary.
  • Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and experience integrating AI frameworks or APIs into web applications or developer tools is beneficial.
  • Candidates should understand and apply quality techniques and practices, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
