WeTravel is seeking a passionate Fullstack Engineer to join their cross-functional product teams.
The role involves building new features, improving performance, and enhancing user interactions on the platform.
You will own features end-to-end, from design and implementation to testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
The position requires designing and building scalable, secure, and maintainable systems using React and Ruby in a modern microservice architecture.
Collaboration with Product and Design teams is essential to create user-centric features that address real problems.
You will shape the long-term architecture and technical direction of the product, contributing to key decisions that balance speed, scalability, and sustainability.
The role includes driving engineering excellence across testing, performance, accessibility, security, and observability.
Mentoring teammates and contributing to engineering guilds to elevate standards and strengthen the culture of ownership is expected.
Requirements:
A passion for engineering with a growth mindset and a proven drive to achieve ambitious goals in fast-paced environments is essential.
Candidates must have 8+ years of production experience, focusing on quality, performance, and long-term maintainability, including 3+ years of hands-on experience with React.
3+ years of experience in building and scaling distributed systems, with strong backend skills in API design, relational and document-based databases, and microservice architectures is required.
A product mindset is necessary; candidates should care deeply about user experience and think beyond implementation details to deliver real value.
Interest in AI is important; candidates should be excited about using AI tools to boost productivity and curious about building AI-powered features.
Experience in coaching engineers, setting coding standards, and building systems that help teams scale efficiently and safely is required.
Clear and direct communication skills, with a thoughtful, async-friendly style and a strong sense of ownership and accountability, are essential.

The role is a full-time, fixed-term contract as an International Contractor.
