  • We are looking for a Senior GCP Cloud Engineer to join our team of digital pioneers.
  • The role involves working hybrid hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST) to engineer production-quality code.
  • Responsibilities include architecting, designing, and implementing microservices using Spring Boot and Java in a GCP environment.
  • The engineer will develop RESTful APIs, ensuring their scalability and performance.
  • The position requires working with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and manage microservices.
  • The engineer will build and manage event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka and Confluent Cloud.
  • Collaboration with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Gradle/Maven, BitBucket, and Ansible is essential.
  • The role includes applying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • The engineer will design and maintain high-performance, low-latency, and high-availability systems.
  • Working with both SQL and NoSQL databases to ensure optimal storage solutions for diverse data sets is required.
  • The position involves implementing proactive monitoring and observability solutions using tools like Splunk and Dynatrace.
  • Ensuring security best practices, including data encryption and securing data both in transit and at rest, is crucial.
  • The engineer will troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have extensive experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and other public cloud environments.
  • A strong background in microservices architecture, including RESTful API development, is required.
  • Proficiency in Java (with Spring Boot) and experience with Python and shell scripting is necessary.
  • Deep knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and experience managing containerized applications in the cloud, preferably GCP, is essential.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging frameworks like Apache Kafka is required.
  • A strong understanding of DevOps culture, practices, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gradle/Maven, BitBucket, Ansible) is necessary.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code is required.
  • Expertise in both SQL and NoSQL database technologies, with exposure to big data solutions, is essential.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and real-time application monitoring is necessary.
  • A solid understanding of security principles, data encryption, and securing data at rest and in transit is required.
  • Experience with building real-time, high-availability, low-latency systems is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are necessary.
