The Senior Ground Software Operations Engineer will report to the VP of Payload Engineering and collaborate with Analytics and Software teams.
Responsibilities include designing software architecture for efficient data upload and download, modeling tasking scenarios for satellites, performing trade studies on orbit positioning, interfacing with operations and software teams, maintaining a modeling and simulation codebase, delivering a high fidelity constellation tasking tool, and developing a scheduling algorithm for hyperspectral imaging satellites.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Aerospace/Mechanical/Astronautical Engineering is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Aerospace/Space/Software industry is necessary.
Experience in verifying tasking plans and spacecraft health and status is essential.
Strong proficiency in Python and/or C++ is required.
A firm understanding of Linux/Unix Operating System commands for scripting and commanding is needed.
Experience using software APIs to send and receive telemetry data is required.
Excellent foundations in software architecture, interface design, distributed systems, and testing patterns are necessary.
Strong communication skills with other disciplines and engineers are essential.
