Brightspeed is seeking a Senior Lead, Data Engineering to join their team, focusing on developing robust, scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions for enterprise-wide analytics and reporting.
This role involves key technical leadership responsibilities, with a focus on designing and implementing batch and real-time data pipelines using platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Informatica, Hive, and Spark.
The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to turn data into actionable insights while mentoring peers and ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for both structured and unstructured data, building and maintaining streaming and batch data pipelines, and developing data solutions that integrate with enterprise data warehouses and data lakes.
The Senior Lead will lead technical designs for ETL architecture, create scalable code and frameworks, support data governance, and act as a mentor for junior team members.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, particularly with cloud and distributed data platforms.
Strong experience with technologies such as Informatica, Hive, Spark, Kafka, and Python is essential.
Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow, is required.
Experience in designing solutions using data warehouse modeling techniques, such as Star Schema and snowflake schema, is necessary.
Familiarity with orchestration tools like Cloud Composer or Airflow is preferred.
Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets are required.
Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a high degree of initiative are essential.
Candidates must be able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience in telecommunications or other high-data-volume industries is a plus.
