Description:

  • Brightspeed is seeking a Senior Lead, Data Engineering to join their team, focusing on developing robust, scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions for enterprise-wide analytics and reporting.
  • This role involves key technical leadership responsibilities, with a focus on designing and implementing batch and real-time data pipelines using platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Informatica, Hive, and Spark.
  • The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to turn data into actionable insights while mentoring peers and ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Responsibilities include designing and implementing efficient ETL/ELT pipelines for both structured and unstructured data, building and maintaining streaming and batch data pipelines, and developing data solutions that integrate with enterprise data warehouses and data lakes.
  • The Senior Lead will lead technical designs for ETL architecture, create scalable code and frameworks, support data governance, and act as a mentor for junior team members.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have 8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, particularly with cloud and distributed data platforms.
  • Strong experience with technologies such as Informatica, Hive, Spark, Kafka, and Python is essential.
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow, is required.
  • Experience in designing solutions using data warehouse modeling techniques, such as Star Schema and snowflake schema, is necessary.
  • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Cloud Composer or Airflow is preferred.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale datasets are required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a high degree of initiative are essential.
  • Candidates must be able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in telecommunications or other high-data-volume industries is a plus.
