Description:

• Home Next Formats helps Spotify activate more customers to the Audiobooks format by creating engaging Audiobook recommendation products.
• These products recommend Audiobooks based on Podcast and Audiobook listening habits, working across content types.
• The team also works on a real-time contextual Audiobook ranker that powers most of their products.
• Future expansions will leverage LLMs or other Generative Recommenders products.
• The role involves designing, building, evaluating, and shipping ML solutions for safety in Spotify’s personalization products.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including user research, design, data science, product management, and engineering, is essential to build new product features.
• Prototyping new approaches and productionizing solutions at scale for hundreds of millions of active users is a key responsibility.
• The position promotes and role-models best practices of ML systems development, testing, and evaluation within the team and the organization.
• The candidate will be part of an active group of machine learning practitioners in New York and across Spotify.

Requirements:

• The candidate must be an experienced ML practitioner motivated to work on complex real-world problems in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
• A strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, and/or generative AI is required, with experience in applying theory to develop real-world applications.
• Hands-on expertise in implementing end-to-end production ML systems at scale in Java, Scala, Python, or similar languages is necessary.
• Experience with frameworks such as Pytorch, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn is a strong plus.
• The candidate should have experience designing end-to-end tech specs and modular architectures for ML frameworks in collaboration with product teams.
• Experience with large scale, distributed data processing frameworks/tools like Apache Beam, Apache Spark, and cloud platforms like GCP or AWS is required.

Benefits:

• The United States base salary range for this position is $176,166 - $251,666 plus equity.
