Remote Senior Platform Engineer

Description:

• HiveMQ is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to join the Engineering Platform Team, which supports the company’s end-to-end operations by providing essential platform services.
• The Engineering Platform Team enhances the overall efficiency of HiveMQ’s product development and cloud applications development and their operations.
• In this role, you will support product development by developing and maintaining collaboration tools, automation solutions, and infrastructure to streamline project management, data analysis, software development, and developer experience.
• You will work closely with the Cloud Applications and Cloud SRE teams to identify challenges and implement solutions that enable them to operate more effectively and efficiently.
• Responsibilities include working with Product Development and Cloud teams to understand their requirements, participating in cross-functional initiatives, employing modernized software delivery methods, designing and maintaining the platform's tools and infrastructure, providing training and support to product teams, measuring and reporting on platform performance, and fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence.

Requirements:

• Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment are essential.
• Experience in operating, maintaining, and automating engineering-focused systems is required.
• The ability to solve problems independently and a drive towards execution are necessary.
• A good understanding of agile software engineering using Kanban is expected.
• A pragmatic approach with a high sense of ownership and teamwork capability is important.
• Experience in networking technologies, such as routing, VPN, network performance, DNS, and VPN is required.
• Experience operating at scale Cloud (SaaS, IaaS, or PaaS) products and services in a Cloud environment with high degrees of automation is necessary.
• Proven experience in building and operating applications at production-quality in the cloud with Cloud native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Helm, and other IaC tools is essential.
• Experience with at least one of the major 3 Cloud providers (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform) is required.
• High standards in building platform and infrastructure setups with automation, modular reusable infrastructure as code, GitOps, and Test- and CI/CD-driven practices are necessary.
• Experience in CI/CD systems, preferably Jenkins and/or ArgoCD, is required.
• Experience in build automation software, preferably Gradle, is necessary.
• Experience with metrics and monitoring solutions such as Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Mimir, or similar (like ElasticSearch, Kibana) is expected.
