Remote Senior Python Developer (Remote - New York)

Description:

• This position is for a Senior Python Developer at ItsaCheckmate, located in New York, USA, with remote flexibility.
• The role involves leading backend development for high-performance, consumer-facing applications in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
• Responsibilities include designing, building, and optimizing APIs that power web, mobile, and in-store experiences.
• The developer will work closely with internal teams and third-party partners.
• The ideal candidate should enjoy solving complex technical challenges and have strong expertise in Python and database management.
• The position allows for ownership over critical parts of the codebase, ensuring high-quality solutions for both internal and external users.
• The candidate is expected to coordinate in real-time with the US Eastern Time team.

Requirements:

• The candidate should have 5–10 years of professional experience as a Python Developer, preferably with Flask (Django experience is also considered).
• Strong SQL skills and experience working directly with databases without an ORM are required.
• Experience in consumer-facing applications with high-performance requirements is necessary.
• Knowledge of integrating external APIs for payments, CRM, loyalty, or marketing applications is essential.
• Hands-on experience with Celery, Redis, Docker, Linux, and AWS is a plus.
• The candidate should have experience working on established codebases and taking ownership of modules.
• The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve problems proactively is required.
• A BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field is necessary.
• The candidate must be available to work at least until 4 pm US Eastern Time.
