Remote Senior Ruby Engineer - Remote Europe

Description:

• The Senior Ruby Engineer will be responsible for architecting and developing highly scalable web applications at Reedsy.
• They will work closely with designers and engineers to design, build, and ship new features from scratch.
• Evaluating and improving the performance, durability, and security of applications in production will be a key responsibility.
• The role involves taking ownership of tasks and seeing features through from start to finish.
• Building RESTful APIs is also part of the job scope.

Requirements:

• The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience with Ruby on Rails at a production level.
• Proficiency in SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases is required.
• Familiarity with unit tests (RSpec) and QA testing tools and techniques is necessary.
• Advanced knowledge of Git is essential.
• Strong emphasis on Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns is a must.
• Perfect fluency in English and excellent communication skills are required.
• Experience working remotely is a prerequisite.

Bonus points:

• Experience with Elasticsearch.
• Familiarity with deployment automation tools.
• Ambition, willingness to learn, and a great sense of humor are considered advantageous.
