SimSpace is seeking a Senior Security Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated security solutions across cyber range environments.
The role involves architecting and automating the deployment of endpoint and network security tools in virtualized and containerized environments.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining configuration and infrastructure management scripts using Ansible, identifying automation opportunities across the security stack, and delivering scalable solutions.
The engineer will design and develop custom automation tools and integrations, collaborate with partner teams, troubleshoot complex automation issues, and mentor junior engineers.
Staying current with advancements in security automation frameworks and creating comprehensive documentation for automation workflows is also required.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in security engineering or automation-focused DevSecOps roles.
Strong problem-solving skills and a creative, solution-oriented mindset are essential.
Excellent analytical thinking and cross-functional communication abilities are required.
A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities is necessary.
Demonstrated mentorship or leadership experience within technical teams is expected.
Proficiency in advanced Ansible for managing infrastructure at scale and at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash) is required.
Experience with Git, GitHub, and modern CI/CD pipelines is necessary.
Familiarity with VMware, vSphere, and other virtualization platforms is required.
A strong understanding of networking protocols, the OSI model, and common security architectures is essential.
Experience automating security hardening, monitoring, and remediation in containerized environments is required.
Prior experience in MSP/MSSP or network engineering roles with automation of infrastructure and security workflows is necessary.
Expertise in automating deployment and configuration of security tools, including SIEM platforms and EDR/XDR tools, is required.
