LMArena is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to lead the design and implementation of secure-by-default infrastructure across their platform.
The role involves safeguarding systems that power real-time AI evaluation, ensuring Arena remains a trusted and resilient platform for users, developers, researchers, and organizations.
The ideal candidate should think like both a builder and a breaker, thriving on identifying attack surfaces, designing resilient defenses, and building systems that scale trust.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing foundational security infrastructure, auditing access patterns, developing and enforcing security policies, building real-time monitoring systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, fostering security awareness, and scaling security operations.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in software engineering or security engineering, focusing on building secure, scalable systems.
Proven experience in securing IT systems, networks, and cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is required.
Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management tools is essential.
Candidates should possess strong knowledge of threat modeling, risk assessment, and designing mitigation strategies for real-world attack scenarios.
Experience implementing common security tools and practices, including VPNs, MFA/2FA, intrusion detection, secrets management, and secure deployment pipelines is necessary.
Experience designing and deploying infrastructure security measures across cloud environments, identity systems, and access controls (e.g., Okta, OneLogin) is required.
Candidates should have experience maintaining company hardware.
Clear communication skills are necessary to collaborate cross-functionally and articulate risks and tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus points for experience in adversarial ML, trust & safety systems, or securing user-driven platforms with voting or reputation systems.
