GuidePoint Security is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to support customers by providing architectural guidance and product recommendations.
The role involves deploying and operationalizing cybersecurity solutions for various customers in the Northwest region, specifically Seattle, WA.
The Senior Security Engineer will spend 65% of their time architecting and implementing cybersecurity solutions and 35% recommending technologies to address customer cybersecurity challenges.
The position requires local residency in the Seattle, WA area.
Responsibilities include serving as the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout project life cycles, designing and implementing security controls across IT and enterprise systems, and communicating complex technical information to diverse audiences.
The role also involves prioritizing and delivering on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and authoring business and technical documentation tailored to both technical and managerial audiences.
Approximately 25% local travel in the Seattle area is required for customer/vendor meetings and events.
Requirements:
Candidates must have security engineering experience in the Information Security industry or as a technical lead for an internal Information Security program.
Experience with architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting of security technologies such as Network, Data Security, SIEM, and Endpoint is required.
Proficiency in multiple security technologies, including Next-Gen Firewalls, DLP, SASE, NAC, PAM, EDR, NDR, SIEM, APPSEC, CWPP, and CSPM is necessary.
A strong understanding of networking security concepts such as routing, segmentation, zones, and NAT is essential.
Deep proficiency in client and server operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux, is required.
General networking and security troubleshooting skills, including firewalls and routing, are necessary.
Candidates should possess scripting and development skills in languages such as BASH, Perl, Python, PowerShell, or Java, along with strong knowledge of regular expressions.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP products and security best practices is required.
A working technical knowledge of advanced security concepts like Defense in Depth and Zero Trust is necessary.
Experience in a consultative or professional services role is preferred.
Industry certifications from ISC2, SANS GIAC, or vendor certifications are preferred.
