  • GuidePoint Security is seeking a Senior Security Engineer (Presales) for the Northwest region, specifically in Seattle, WA.
  • The role involves providing architectural guidance and product recommendations to customers, focusing on deploying and operationalizing cybersecurity solutions.
  • This position requires 100% of the time to be spent recommending the best technologies to address customer cybersecurity challenges.
  • The Senior Security Engineer will serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients throughout the project life cycle.
  • Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and operationalizing security controls across various IT and enterprise business systems.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The role requires the ability to autonomously prioritize and deliver on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • The engineer will author comprehensive business and technical collateral tailored to both technical and managerial audiences.
  • Approximately 25% local travel in the Seattle area is required for customer/vendor meetings and events, while the remainder of the time will be remote work.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have security engineering experience in the Information Security industry or as a technical lead for an internal Information Security program.
  • Experience with architecture, implementation, and troubleshooting of security technologies such as Network, Data Security, SIEM, and Endpoint is required.
  • Proficiency in multiple security technologies, including Next-Gen Firewalls, DLP, SASE, NAC, PAM, EDR, NDR, SIEM, APPSEC, CWPP, and CSPM is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of networking security concepts such as routing, segmentation, zones, and NAT is essential.
  • Deep proficiency in client and server operating systems, including Windows, Mac, and Linux, is required.
  • General networking and security troubleshooting skills, including firewalls, routing, and NAT, are necessary.
  • Candidates should possess scripting and development skills in BASH, Perl, Python, PowerShell, or Java, along with strong knowledge of regular expressions.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP products and security best practices is required.
  • A working technical knowledge of advanced security concepts such as Defense in Depth and Zero Trust is necessary.
  • Experience in a consultative or professional services role is preferred.
  • Industry certifications from ISC2, SANS GIAC, or vendor certifications are preferred.
