The Senior Security Operations Engineer will be part of the Security Engineering team, responsible for scaling security in the development lifecycle and managing security incident management.
The role emphasizes security by design and involves building or integrating tools to facilitate secure engineering practices.
Key responsibilities include monitoring security events, leading incident response efforts, developing incident response plans, and coordinating with cross-functional teams during security incidents.
The engineer will also manage security tools, develop automation scripts, conduct threat research, and contribute to security architecture and compliance efforts.
The position requires participation in an on-call rotation and mentoring junior team members.
Requirements:
A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in security operations, incident response, or a related role.
A deep understanding of security concepts, principles, and technologies is essential.
Experience with security monitoring tools, including their configuration and administration, is required.
Proven experience in leading and coordinating incident response processes is necessary.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Go is required.
Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible is preferred.
Experience with threat intelligence platforms and strong analytical skills are necessary.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with a collaborative mindset.
Benefits:
The compensation range for this position in Canada is between $140,600 and $175,800 CAD, exclusive of bonuses, equity, and benefits.
